In response to the crisis in our community caused by the federal occupation of Minneapolis, residents intentionally created space in the form of Mass Meetings. As a long standing Black community tradition, Mass Meetings are an opportunity for people to come together, build trust and collectively address harmful conditions together.
ONE City ONE Future is our bold policy agenda that demands an affordable city for everyone who calls Minneapolis home. We’re demanding a $25 wage, a corporate wealth tax, Just Cause Eviction protections and Municipal Grocery Stores. These policies are the future of Minneapolis, where wealth stops flowing in one direction and starts working for the people who actually generate it.
Black Guardians of Democracy (BGOD) arose from a need identified during Black Mass meetings-that our community desires opportunities to deepen our political education, strenthen our organizing skills and build courage to defend our communities. BGOD is that vehicle, specifically designed to engage and inform our Black community around all things democracy.
